Ben’s firstling
The Kanepieper is Homeland’s first Double IPA. The recipe stems from Ben’s first training days, when he had accidently brewed a very heavy dry-hopped Kölsch as a test brew.
By now, Ben can call himself a fully qualified brewer and has adapted the recipe from a Kölsch to a Double IPA. The beer is brewed with barley, cara malts, oats and wheat and the New Zealand hops Moutere, Wai-ti, Motueka and Rakau. It has become a very fruity beer with notes of pine, tropical stone fruit and lime, with a strong bitter aftertaste.
Watch out, despite its high alcohol percentage, the Kanepieper washes down dangerously easy.
